A case of attempted murder has been opened, after a man was stabbed, beaten and left for dead.
In the early hours of last Thursday morning, a SAPS official was travelling through town when she noticed an unusual object near the intersection of the N11 and Albert Wessels Drive.
The object, she discovered, was a man covered in blood with horrific injuries.
It was later determined the victim was aged between 18 and 22 years old and had been robbed of everything, including the clothes off his back, before he was stabbed repeatedly with a screwdriver.
Before being left for dead, his front teeth were knocked out.
SAPS cluster spokesman, Captain Shooz Magudulela said the victim was being treated at Madadeni Hospital, and cases of attempted murder and assault had been opened.
“We assume he was walking from the Lennoxton area and that he was not a local person.”
