Treverton’s grade three class’s theme for the first term was studying garden creatures from bees to chameleons and grasshoppers.
It was the perfect combination for grade three of classroom instruction and practical observation.
The chameleons proved to the most popular and many pupils brought “pets” to school, and the class could observe them changing colour, their mobile eyes, and their very long, rapidly extruding tongues as they snatch their food.
The children spent time in the extensive Prep gardens observing these fascinating little creatures and then returned to the classroom to create drawings and write poems about them.
