A brawl in Kandahar Avenue on Tuesday morning saw shots being fired and a man being pushed into the path of an oncoming truck.
A vicious fist fight apparently broke out between friends and was witnessed by a bystander.
The bystander who saw the altercation pulled out a gun and fired warning shots into the air in an attempt to disperse the friends. However, this did not have the desired effect and the fight continued, ending with one man being pushed into the road in front of a passing truck. The truck hit the man and the rest of the friends ran away.
The accident victim sustained moderate injuries and was treated by Sharaj Ambulance Services and EMRS before being transported to hospital.
At this stage, it is not known who fired the shots. One shell was found at the scene.
