Police are looking for a third suspect in the murder case of Mr Uraj ‘Joe’ Ahir and need the public’s help in this regard.
The 44-year-old gym owner was found lying in bed at his home in Oswald Rapson Road on Monday, April 7.
A postmortem investigation determined that he had sustained injuries consistent with an assault. A case of murder was opened and an investigation into his death began.
Officers from Ladysmith Detective Services and the Ladysmith K9 Unit arrested two suspects, aged 23 and 36, in the Hillside area of Ladysmith on Monday, May 26.
A third suspect, known as Faizel Drew, is still on the run and a warrant for his arrest has been issued. He is about 30 years old and was last seen with a long beard and a shaven head. The suspect is known to frequent Ladysmith, Estcourt, Durban, Pietermaritzburg and Johannesburg.
Police have released a photo of the suspect. He is not to be approached and is considered to be dangerous.
