While many other students spent the last few hours of Thursday, June 19 at 9.30am revising just before entering examination rooms, one student in school uniform allegedly decided to take another route.
A woman allegedly reported her vehicle stolen but it was soon recovered.
With loud, unfamiliar and unsettling noises a car chase took place as the police traced a vehicle reported stolen in Hellet Road.
The road was blocked off, oncoming cars were pulled over.
A witness who was on scene at the time, Ryan Melville, says two police vans and a police mini bus taxi were present to track the stolen vehicle down.
Mr Melville says that the police were heavily armed, when they discovered the stolen vehicle.
The youngster who Mr Melville described as about 18-years-old not only tried to escape but also attempted knocking down a policeman. This prompted police to fire at the car.
The two front tyres of the Toyota Corolla 2006/2007 model were shot at. The whining, squealing and squeaking sounds of the rims rattled and ground on the tar of Hellet Road as the youngster allegedly tried escaping the roadblock.
When the car slowly refused to move forward, the show was over and the youngster was doomed indeed.
As the vehicle gave in, leaving the student stranded, the police then made an arrest.
