Two female police constables were killed on the N3 yesterday afternoon (Thursday) in a motor vehicle accident. The officers were both in civilian clothing and travelling in a private vehicle, a Nissan Tiida. Both officers were from Durban.

One of the officers was killed outright when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.

No other vehicles were involved  in the accident, which occurred on a straight section of the N3 en-route to Durban.

Police at the scene removed the officers’ firearms.

One of them died en-route to hospital in the ambulance.
