
A teenager was arrested with about R2000 worth of dagga in his possession on Tuesday afternoon.
The Elandslaagte Visible Policing Unit were busy with a crime prevention operation in the Elandslaagte area when they received information that dagga was being sold near a tuck shop in Jononoskop.
Following up on this tip-off, police swooped on a 17-year-old who had several dagga parcels as well as loose dagga in a plastic bag in his possession. The parcels weighed just under half a kilogram, while the loose dagga weighed in at around 1.4kg. The estimated street value of the drugs is in the region of R2000.
The suspect was arrested and later released into the care of his parents. The teenager faces charges of dealing in dagga.
