A cigarette delivery van was hijacked at Madadeni, Section 5 on July 16 at around 7.47am.
Cigarettes to the value of R96 000 and R284 in cash were stolen.
The driver of the vehicle told police the suspects offloaded the cigarettes at an unknown location.
The suspects then drove off with the driver still inside the vehicle. It was the first time the driver had come into contact with the suspects.
SAPS spokesperson, Captain Shooz Magudulela said, “A case has been opened and police managed to recover the vehicle and the cigarettes.
Four suspects between the ages of 25 and 35 have been arrested. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed.
Police investigations continue.
