Three ATM criminals appeared in court on Monday after being arrested with gift cards and bank cards in their possession.
On Thursday afternoon at about 4pm, a Ladysmith resident was at an ATM at a local shopping centre when a person came up from behind and told him the ATM was giving problems.
The crook proceeded to ‘assist’ the resident and then suddenly grabbed the card from the ATM and fled with two accomplices. The three were seen speeding off in a car.
Police were alerted and within minutes, the vehicle was spotted in town. The three suspects were arrested and the getaway vehicle was seized. Several gift cards and bank cards were recovered.
Two of the suspects are 28 years of age, while the third is 29 years old. They appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing charges of robbery and possession of suspected stolen property.
