Two suspects have been arrested on charges of stock theft on Amalinda Farm in Glencoe. The suspects allegedly stole four sheep, valued at R6 000.

The owner of the farm allegedly received a call informing him that people were in the process of stealing his stock.

On his arrival the scene he found one sheep with a broken leg, and another four missing. Police are continuing with the investigation.

In a separate incident, a cow worth R7 000 was stolen from a grazing camp on Payne Farm, Glencoe. No arrests have been made and the case is under investigation.

Glencoe house break-ins escalate

Police are investigating five cases of house break-ins and theft around Glencoe and Sithembile. The incidents took place between July 18 and July 20, and the value of goods stolen ranges from R970 to R37 300.

Access was gained by force through the garages or through breaking windows. Goods stolen included video cameras, laptops, tool sets, memory devices, Garmin GPS devices, chargers, headphones, electric cables, a bakkie sail, kettles and hot-plate stove. Cases are under investigation, but no arrests have yet been made.

Fake police rob home

The Zondo family from Glencoe were robbed of four laptops and two cellphones by four unknown men, pretending to be police officers. They claimed they were ‘searching for a suspect’ on the property.

The men presented the occupants with a ‘search warrant’, and were all armed and apparently talking on police radios.

According to the information from police, everyone who was in the house was ordered to sit in the living room under guard while others searched the house, removing the above-mentioned items before leaving the house.

Police are searching for the suspects, and no arrests have been made thus far.
