
Five robbery suspects, one of who is a minor, were arrested after several items stolen in a house robbery were recovered last week.
On Wednesday police received a report of a house robbery from Cannon Rogers Road. After initial investigations on scene, police established that the occupants were robbed of several items and they reported seeing four suspects who fled.
Estcourt detectives took on the case and this resulted in the domestic worker Khanyisile Dladla (44) being questioned at the police station.
Police spokesperson Captain JS Sokhela said that during the questioning it was revealed the domestic worker was allegedly involved and she was arrested.
She appeared in the Estcourt Magistrates Court on Thursday, July 24 and was remanded in custody. The investigating team arrested four suspects in the Makekeni area in Amangwe (Loskop) between 1am and 2am on Thursday, July 24. “Ntandeni Nduli (38), Nkosikhona Kubheka (22), Nkululeko Kubheka (18) and a minor whose name could not be disclosed were arrested. Some of the items that belongs to the complainant were recovered, including the firearm suspected to have been used during the robbery,” commented Captain JS Sokhela.
The arrested suspects appeared in the Estcourt Magistrates Court on Friday, July 25 and were remanded in custody until a bail application.
“The police are sending a strong message to those who do not respect the rights of others that their days are numbered. The police management would like to say well done to the committed police officers who go an extra mile serving our community,” concluded Captain Sokhela.
