Police have no clue who ‘sarie killer’ is?

Residents are angry and concerned, knowing that the murderer is out there somewhere

Police are still investigating the murder of 84-year-old Mrs Hansie Surajpal, who was brutally strangled with her own sarie at the beginning of January this year. No arrests have been made regarding the brutal death of  Mrs Surajpal, who lived in Maple Crescent.

Residents are angry and concerned, knowing that the murderer is out there somewhere. Anger is now being directed at the police, as six months have passed without an arrest.

The murderer, dubbed the ‘sarie killer’ by locals, is still at large. The only link to her killer is a missing gardener

Mrs Surajpal was found by her neighbours on her bedroom floor, strangled to death with a sarie. The sarie she was wearing had been used to tie her hands together and was also wrapped around her neck very tightly.

The murder sent shock waves through Ladysmith and locals are still waiting for justice to be meted out.
