Nukani acquitted of murder

The murder trial has stretched over several years because of delays and sickness...

Thandeka Nukani was today acquitted of murder charges in the Madadeni High Court.  Ms Nukani, a former Endumeni Mayor who now works at Umzinyathi District Municipality, was charged with the June 2007 murder of trade unionist, Grishen Bujram.

His widow, Shirley Bujram, has long complained of  ‘delaying tactics’ that has seen the case stretch over several years.

“I will fight for justice until I have achieved the result that I want, even if it means losing my life to do so. My three children and I want justice to be served, and closure,” said Mrs Bujram.
