
A man was arrested on Friday for stealing metal brackets off a railway line.
Two security officials from Afri Guard were patrolling businesses along the Newcastle Road on Friday (Spetember 5) when they came across a person carrying a suspicious-looking and extremely heavy bag. They found approximately R5000 worth of scrap metal, including metal brackets, inside the bag.
The metal brackets had been stolen off a railway line.
Police were called and the man was arrested for the theft of the brackets.
The suspect, aged 34, appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court this morning (Monday, September 8).
