The Sakekamer held a members meeting last Friday at the Pines.

With an interest in Newcastle’s economy and business development, the members were eager to look at ways to assist the town and its community.

Guest speaker of the day was Ferdi Alberts, Director of Economic Development from the municipality.

He touched on the economical growth of Newcastle during 2013 and projects that contributed to it, which involved the extension of Victoria Mall and Vulintaba Golf Estate.

So far, 2014 has also proven to be a good year with local bed and breakfasts benefiting from contractors working at Arcelor Mittal, and with the planned medical university, he said.

Mr Albert’s passion for and belief in the development of Newcastle, surely inspired members to apply this in their own businesses.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
