Parasite in Rose Park tap water

As she was about to take a sip, she noticed a long, wiggly worm in the glass

A Ladysmith resident, living in the Rose Park area, was astonished when a long parasite-like worm came out of her tap this morning (Monday).

The resident, who does not wish to be named, poured herself a glass of water to take her morning medication. The water was clear, but as she was about to take a sip, she noticed a long, wiggly worm in the glass.

The parasite had obviously come out of the tap. The woman described it as being brown, long and very fast.

She felt sick to think that she could’ve swallowed it, and left her glass on the counter.

“This is insane! How could something like this be in tap water?” fumed the upset resident.  “What if a child drank this water? How dangerous!”

All this while Ladysmith is currently under severe water restrictions.
