Construction work has begun along the N11.

According to a resident engineer of Naidu Consulting, the road works have started near the Waterside Engen Garage and will continue for 11 kilometres northward towards Volksrust.

Contractors will be milling 30 millimetres of the old asphalt, repairing the damages to the road, whereafter 40 millimetres of asphalt will be overlaid.

It is estimated construction work will be complete by mid December.

Construction workers will then go off-site and return in February 2015, when a double seal will be applied. This will be complete by the end of April.

There will be numerous stop-and-go points during the construction to control traffic flow, and the community is requested to be patient during this time.
