Dilapidated house to be demolished?
Ward 2 councillor, Bebsie Cronje, is investigating the matter.
A decrepit house on Gemini Street in Signal Hill has become a blight on the area.
A resident who wished to remain anonymous, claimed the house had been falling apart for the past three years.
However, Ward 2 Councillor, Bebsie Cronje said it was the first time she heard about it, but was determined to find out who the owner was to solve the matter.
“No one reported it to me. I am going to find out whom the house belongs to and try to have it demolished,” she said.
In a previous article regarding the house, it was reported a resident was concerned about the possibility of unsavoury individuals using the run-down house for shady dealings.
Cllr Cronje shared a similar view.
“Criminals can use the property for criminal activities and I will try to sort it out as soon as possible.”
She encouraged Ward 2 residents to contact her if they came across any other issues which negatively impacted the ward.
