Notice water will be stopped

The water outages are unavoidable, according to the Newcastle Municipality, as valves at the Hilldrop reservoir need to be changed to connect the new reservoir to existing reservoir systems.

Residents are warned water delivery may be compromised on November 9.

The water outages are unavoidable, according to the Newcastle Municipality, as valves at the Hilldrop reservoir need to be changed to connect the new reservoir to existing reservoir systems.

The Riverside Industrial Area, and the Newcastle Chemical Park areas will definitely be affected, as water will not be pumped to these areas during the changeover.

Other areas that can also be affected include the CBD, Fairleigh, Lennoxton, Fernwood, Surayaville and Paradise.

According to municipal officials, the project should begin at 8am and will be completed by 2pm
