Vacant house blamed for burglaries

Wishing to remain anonymous, a resident accused burglars of hiding on the property and targeting houses in the area.

A semi constructed house on Toucan Street, Lennoxton, is allegedly the reason of an increase in burglaries in the area.

Wishing to remain anonymous, a resident accused burglars of hiding on the property and targeting houses in the area. “My house has been broken into more than once, as have other people’s homes. It has been like this for approximately 12 years,” she complained.

Ward councillor, Matthew Shunmugam, said concerns about the house had been brought to his attention.

“Since this is a town planning and building inspectorate matter, it was referred to the officials of that department for their application of the by-laws and with the view of resolving the matter,” Cllr Shunmugam explained.
