“We want to be partners with the local municipality in the growth of the local economy of Newcastle and facilitate banking and financing solutions to help our customers and clients prosper,” said Absa Regional Executive, Lindiwe Rakharebe.
Deputy Mayor of Newcastle Local Municipality, Rachel Ndluli, joined the Absa regional leadership at the opening ceremony of the branch. “The Newcastle Municipality is very pleased with the opening of the branch, we believe the community will benefit from it,” she said.
Given its strategic location and potential in sectors such as logistics and warehousing, tourism and textile and mining, Newcastle is poised for economic growth.
This is an investment in the business district of Newcastle and the surrounding area. The branch will offer customers various assisted services as well as self-service options at their convenience.
“The upgrading of our branch network is supported by the development of new technologies that will ultimately enhance the experience for our customers. We are grateful to our customers and clients who waited patiently during the branch transformation and for using our Newcastle Mall branch in the interim,” said Absa Regional Executive, Lindiwe Rakharebe.
