Reward offered for ‘Green’ murder
The seriously injured farmer managed to call his wife, who was on holiday at the coast. She then raised the alarm. He died at the scene, despite paramedics’ best efforts to save him.

A reward of up to R50,000 has been offered by the Pietermaritzburg Organised Crime Unit to anyone who is able to provide information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of persons responsible for the murder of Malcolm Wallace Green (69).
On Monday, February 5, at about 1am, Green was fatally shot by unknown suspects on his farm in the Estcourt area. The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.
The brutal killing of Estcourt farmer Malcolm ‘Stick’ Green sent shock waves throughout the farming community. The killers of the 69-year-old farmer were believed to have fled in his bakkie, which was found abandoned near Ladysmith, reported the Ladysmith Gazette.
According to reports, Mr Green was confronted by at least four men in his farmhouse. He was shot in the stomach. The men stole electronic goods before fleeing in Mr Green’s bakkie.
