Puppies dumped at Bowls Club

"The puppies are six weeks old. I collected them and they are now safe at the SPCA."

Three puppies were found dumped at the Newcastle Bowls Club this morning.

SPCA inspector, Elize van Rooyen, said she was contacted about the puppies shortly before 9am.

“The puppies are six weeks old. I collected them and they are now safe at the SPCA.”

Ms van Rooyen said she was upset about the way the puppies were discarded.

“They are obviously unwanted. In order to avoid situations such as this, people should sterilise their pets, or at least take unwanted animals to the SPCA,” she concluded.
