2 business robbery suspects, aged 21 and 22, are set to appear in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court today (Friday).
The charges relate to a robbery that occurred in the Bethany area of Bergville on Wednesday, June 24.
2 men entered a store, overpowered the owner and ransacked the shop. One of the robbers was armed with a knife.
A small amount of cash was removed from the cash register, after which the two made their escape in the direction of the Woodford area on foot.
The victim quickly called friends in the Woodford area and explained the situation. He requested them to assist and gave them the suspects’ descriptions.
Police were also called and the 2 were apprehended with the help of the community.
Most of the stolen cash was recovered after it was found in the suspects’ possession.
