School pupils line up the tee

It’s official – the Newcastle Youth Golf Open takes place this month.

Newcastle Golf Club plays host to this competition on July 17, open exclusively to school pupils from Grade 1 to 12.

Players will be divided according to handicap.

Those who have a handicap rating will tee off from 10am for an IPS format matchplay.

Non-handicap players can attend a golf clinic from 10.30am, which will be followed by five holes on the course.

The entry fee for both is R100, including lunch.

Bookings are essential and the closing date for confirming attendance is July 15, with registration open from 9.30am on the day.
