Arrests, stolen appliances recovered by K9 cops

Both accused have appeared in the Ezakheni Magistrate's Court, facing charges of theft

Two suspects have appeared in court in connection with theft from an appliance company in the Pieters industrial area.

On Monday afternoon, Ladysmith Dog Unit (K9) officers Sergeant TL Blose, Constable S Padayachee and Cst JS Msoami responded to a call for assistance from an appliance company in the Pieters industrial area.

They were informed that 15 appliances had allegedly been stolen from the premises during the course of Sunday night. Further investigation revealed the possible location of the property.

The officers rushed out to a residence in Ezakheni B-Section, where two suspects, both aged 30, were arrested.

They also recovered all the items, which included 11 fridges, 3 stoves and a washing machine. The items are valued at R40,000.

Both the accused appeared in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Thursday) on theft charges.
