A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to an effective 10 years’ imprisonment after raping his 58-year-old grandmother at her home in the Etholeni area of Ekuvukeni.
The rape took place on April 25.
The grandson was arrested on the same day at her home after an argument broke out between them.
Bail was opposed by the investigating officer and the accused remained in custody until he stood trial.
He was sentenced to a decade of jail time in the Dundee Regional Court recently, and also found unfit to possess a firearm.
