How does one measure success?

For the Dreamteam Cause for the Paws, raising a whopping amount of approximately R46 000 seems a good yardstick.

Last Thursday, the team met at Gato’s Spinning Studio.

Regulars and Dreamteam members enjoyed an hour-long workout, whereafter the team was surprised by studio owner, Gato Swanepoel.

“This is a handover of a donation of R1 000 from Auto Park Total and Gato’s Spinning Studio. What they don’t know is that we have a second donation of R5 000 as a surprise.”

Upon opening an envelope and revealing the R6 000 donation, Dreamteam members were stunned.

“Thank you everyone,” said an emotional leader, Susan Pitout.

She added with the donation and extras such as blankets and animal food, the team had raised approximately R46 000, to be divided between the SPCA and Ncandu Animal Clinic, for medical procedures and treatment for animals brought in by the SPCA.

Mrs Pitout also thanked cyclists for helping to make a difference.

Explaining the decision to support the Dreamteam’s cause, Mr Swanepoel said not everyone could compete in the Memel Walk, but arranging a spin-a-thon was simple.

“I believe this is a good cause to support.”
