The kindness of the Estcourt community has helped fill three boxes with food items, warm clothes and blankets as part of the Winter Warmth campaign, which began in June. Six weeks later, three boxes will lessen the need amongst thousands who are left destitute by the cruelly cold winter.

The underprivileged cannot easily crawl into a warm bed after a nice hot bath. While many are fortunate to find comfort in a house, many are unfortunate to endure all sorts of elements with just the clothes on their backs. It’s left to the fortunate to assist the not so fortunate in any way possible.

Very often an outside fire is the only warmth they get against harsh dropping temperatures. If the plight of the underprivileged has touched your heart then get involved and make a difference with your contribution. Another set of donations were delivered to the Estcourt News office during the course of this past week.

Donations of winter wear and non-perishable food items have shown that the local community is filled with humanity. On behalf of Abdul Khan and the Estcourt and Midlands News, a big thank you goes out to everyone who has/will contribute towards the initiative.

Your contribution will not be forgotten; your compassion can now help keep a needy family or individual fed and warm through the remainder of winter.
