Residents and the business community were among those who made sure their slippers and hearts were in the right place on Slipper Day on August 7.
Slipper Day is one of the Reach For A Dream foundation’s biggest fund-raisers.
Residents nationwide could make a donation of R10 for a sticker and wear their slippers all day, aided by Wimpy which offered a free coffee and mug for those who helped out.
Last year, this project saw R2,66-million raised. This money went toward children fighting life-threatening diseases, Reach For A Dream’s website explained, and this year the target is R4-million.
“We are opening satellite offices across the country to extend our reach and help more children fighting life-threatening illnesses.”

Speaking on behalf of Anderson Properties, administration manager, Jacqueline Schoombee, said it was a company decision to always lend a hand to charitable causes, including Slipper Day.
