A prayer for a better tomorrow

Hindu devotees will gather in prayer at the 15th annual Maha Yagna Pooja for rain, grain, peace, prosperity and unity hosted by Shree Sanathan Dharma Purohit Mandal.

The Maha Yagna signifies the spirit of one’s faith and devotion to the creator, with faith being one of the main qualities needed for success whether on a spiritual or worldly undertaking.

Prayer and faith give devotees much needed strength and courage in a world where people are faced with various misfortunes and epidemics such as HIV.

It is important to continually strive towards having faith and following God.

The Maha Yagna Pooja is set to take place on August 30 at 8am, on the corner of Dixon and St Thomas streets, Lennoxton, and will begin with a peace walk, starting at 7am.

The youth are encouraged to participate in the walk, as special blessings and prayers, including Saraswathie Pooja, will be officiated. During the day, pundits will recite 1008 mantras.

Parsadh and lunch will be served.

Any form of donation may be handed to the priest committee.
