Addressing the hereafter through drama

What happens to one’s soul after death? Is there a heaven and hell?

These are spiritual questions many people might ask themselves during the course of their lives.

Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames is a drama production presented by Agape Christian Centre and Bridge Church that will try to answer these questions.

The theme of the production focuses on life after death from a Christian perspective.

Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames will be performed by the congregations of the two churches from September 6 until September 9, from 7pm daily at the Newcastle Recreation Centre in Arbor Park.

The production was initially staged in Newcastle was in 2013.

“There is a need for people and it is a pressing reality of what we face when we die,” said Pastor Richard Kohly of Bridge Church.

Pastor Henry Howard of Agape Christian Centre reiterated Pastor Kohly’s words.

“It is for people to make quality decisions for life after death,” he said.

Both pastors said the production would be staged again this year due to the positive response it received in 2013.

“It had a huge impact, especially with the young people. 700 people gave their lives to the Lord,” Pastor Howard said.

“There were so many people who wanted to see it the first time, that some people had to be turned away because there was no more space available. This will be a replay for those who never had an opportunity to see it then,” Pastor Kohly said.

The production is open for people of all ages and backgrounds and will be free of charge.

It is advised that parents attend the event with their primary school children.
