Committee members from the Estcourt Animal Shelter are proud to announce that the organisation has obtained its Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) number and is ready to operate.

The Estcourt Animal Shelter is a community-based animal welfare centre, which is funded by donations from the public and private sector and is based at the kennels Kemps Road. Since March 19 when the Estcourt and District SPCA was forced to close down, some committee members took on the task of opening a private animal shelter. The need for this facility in our town could not be overlooked and through knocking on the right doors, the committee members have successfully launched the Estcourt Animal Shelter.

After receiving the NPO number (Reg No 153-356), the shelter may now host fundraising drives, which is one of the essential methods of keeping the shelter financially viable. Currently the kennels have a small number of cats and dogs that are available for adoption, so please visit them if you’re looking for a pet.
