Time to Relay
Lace up your walking shoes and join in at the Cansa Relay for Life, which will be taking place at Forderville Primary School this Saturday from 3pm until Sunday at 9am.
This weekend marks the seventh annual Cansa Relay for Life and the organisers are gearing up for a fun, educational, emotional and community-supported event.
The Relay is 18-hours long and begins on Saturday, September 5 at 3pm with a survivor’s lap of honour before all teams take to the track at Forderville Primary School.
At 9am on Sunday, September 6 the Relay will close with a prize giving. Organiser Anil Sookraj would like to remind all teams and individuals of the following points:
1. The Relay is an alcohol, drug and smoke free event.
2. All team captains are requested to meet on Wednesday, September 2 at 6pm at Forderville Primary to collect Luminaria Bags and wristbands.
3. Under 18 learners are not allowed to stay overnight at the Relay without their parents or guardians present.
4. Individuals may participate in the Relay by paying R20 per person.
5. No fires of any sort are allowed in the tents. Fires may be lit outside the tents in containers of some sort.
6. Right of admission is reserved.
