Biker perishes in R621 crash

A two-wheeled rider recalled to heaven; a community addled by another loss.
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on the R621 near Dannhauser on Sunday afternoon.
ER24 paramedics responded to the scene to find a man was being treated by provincial services.
“On assessment, paramedics found the patient had sustained severe injuries to his chest and head, and was in a critical condition,” said ER24 spokesperson, Jan Henk van Vuuren.
Advanced life support was administered, however the patient succumbed to his injuries 40 minutes later.
“It is understood the patient was on his motorcycle when he hit a pothole, causing him to lose control of his motorcycle,” concluded Mr van Vuuren.

Authorities were on scene to investigate, however no further information was made available at the time of publication.
