CANSA Spring Dinner and Dance

The CANSA Spring Dinner and Dance was a fund-raiser toward the upcoming Relay for Life which takes place at Ferrum High School on 10 and 11 October.

A poignant rendition of In the arms of an angel by Newcastle High School pupil, Sherezaad van Blerk brought home the reality of cancer at the CANSA Spring Dinner and Dance hosted at the weekend.

Sherezaad sang this Sarah McLachlan favourite as a tribute to her mum who recently passed away from cancer.

The teen’s stirring performance inspired cancer survivors who attended the ball to spontaneously share their stories of hope, and it is on this note of hope that guests took to the dance floor and partied the night away.

The CANSA Spring Dinner and Dance was a fund-raiser toward the upcoming Relay for Life which takes place at Ferrum High School on 10 and 11 October.

At the Relay for Life, members of the community will band together in a grand act of solidarity to fight against cancer by celebrating the lives of cancer survivors, remembering all those who have lost the battle and pledging to each step they take around the track towards waking up in a world without cancer.
