Wind gust causes ‘minutes’ of chaos

The sudden wind blew away any hopes of rain...

A sudden, sharp gust of wind left behind a trail of destruction shortly after 7pm last night.

Several homes were damaged in the Nyanyadu area, under the jurisdiction of Amajuba District Municipality, and there were also reports of damaged homes in several informal settlements.

Disaster Management is assessing the situation and more details are expected ‘soon’.

A large tree branch crashed down onto a wall at the Dundee Country Club.  Fortunately no one was injured and the branch and wall did not hit any of the parked vehicles.

Sadly, the wind appeared to have blown away any hopes of rain. The forecast tomorrow is more hopeful – 21 degrees with showers… let’s hope so…
