Gymnasts make Ladysmith proud

Midlands Rhythmic Gymnastics Club attended a competition in Hilton on Saturday, September 19. It was a wet and rainy day, but coaches’ and parents’ hearts were warmed by the excellent performance of all the girls.

For the first time, Little Rhythmic girls (pre-school) could also participate and they did Ladysmith proud. Medals were awarded according to the scores. Little Rhythmic girls came home with one bronze, one silver and four gold medals. Level 1 competitors returned with two bronze, one silver and four gold medals. Level 2 won two bronze and two gold, and level 3 won two golds.

Podium places in their respective age groups: Fun Gym (pre-school): first – Naledi Motsamai, second – Andiswa Gambu, third – Rivari Sivanath. L1 (U/7): first – Danique Coetzee, second – Megan Maher, third – Mpilwenhle Thabede. L1 (U/8) third – Asanda Simelane, L1 (U/8): second – Tseron Makubedu. L2 (U/9): second – Yamukelwa Majola. L3 (U/11): first – Rene Venter. O/11: first – Claire Tucker.
