BREAKING NEWS: Woman shot in the head during armed robbery
A woman sustained fatal injuries after about nine armed suspects stormed their store earlier today.
The Newcastle Advertiser has just received confirmation that a woman was shot during an armed robbery in oSizweni.
According to reports, about nine armed suspects divided into groups and targeted three Chinese-owned stores.
The victim, Mrs Gao, was shot in the head; the bullet going straight through her brain.
“She had no chance of survival,” said spokesperson for the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Municipal Councillor, Alex Liu.
Mrs Gao was rushed to hospital, but later succumbed to her injuries.
“The Chinese community are with mixed feelings of sadness and anger; sad for the loss of Mr. Goa’s family and angered by the execution style of murder to an unarmed lady by the robbers. We couldn’t understand how a human could point a fire arm to an unarmed lady and shoot her in the head like an execution,” concluded an emotional Cllr Liu.
While words fail us during this time, the Newcastle Advertiser wishes to extend its sincere condolences to the family of the victim.
