Dissatisfaction builds among ratepayers

Residents have hit back at the ‘defensive response’ from Mayor, Afzul Rehman last week.

Some believe the municipality has to simply face residents directly, and come to terms with a community baying for more answers and less burden.

In their own words, “the finger always points to the captain of the team.”

With certain residents reportedly borrowing money to pay their rates bills, residents are pleading for help in almost any form.

“We need our money back. If the heads know what is right from wrong, they must do a full refund.”

This burning issue continues to smoulder, and new information has come to light this week, regarding investigations into electricity rate increases by higher authorities.

Some believe this could be the answer to their prayers.
