Hole dug by uThukela is a danger to children

Residents say this is yet another sign of uThukela's inability to follow up on work not completed

Residents say that a hole dug by uThukela about 2 months ago is a danger to children in Gumtree Road.

The hole was dug to fix a burst pipe and has just been left unfilled. Aside from being unsightly and dangerous to children playing in the area, residents claim it is also now being used as a dumping area.

“It is also a hazard to motorists, what with all the dirt left in the road and no warning signs to prevent a possible accident or damage being done to someone’s car,” said one unhappy person.

Residents say this is yet another sign of uThukela’s inability to follow up on work not completed, adding that this area is neglected when it comes to proper service delivery.

One irate member of the community has all but given up on complaining and accepts this kind of situation as the norm.
