Burst pipe, electricity danger in Dianthus Crescent

uThukela workers were back on scene on Monday morning because the water leak was still not fixed

A burst water pipe in Dianthus Crescent saw residents of house No. 67 phoning uThukela at about 9pm on Sunday night.

Another resident phoned Public Safety the same night due to a damaged electricity cable near the leak. Emnambithi/Ladysmith municipal workers arrived at the scene just after 3.30pm the following afternoon (Monday).

One resident commented, “This is a terrible danger to children in the neighbourhood. Electricity and water together can be a deadly combination that could see some unsuspecting youngster being electrocuted to death.”

uThukela workers were back on scene on Monday morning because the water leak was still not fixed.

Residents in the area had no water supply from 10am in the morning.
