YOU MAY have missed it: a legal notice in last week’s Vryheid Herald advised the public of new requirements when applying for a driving licence, a learner driver’s licence, a PRDP and the renewals thereof.
From November 1, applicants must submit with their application proof of residential address, such as a councillor’s letter or electricity bill.
The official notice continues:
“Once the proof has been submitted for the first time, the verification of personal and address particulars will be done annually thereafter, or upon change of address.”
What exactly this sentence means, or implies is not clear.
Failure to comply with the above will result in the “non-issue” of the licence.
