3 arrested for possession of stolen property, drugs

The suspects could not give a satisfactory account for where the items had come from and were arrested on suspicion that the items they were carrying were stolen

Two men, aged 26 and 28, were arrested early on Saturday morning for possession of suspected stolen property.

The duo were walking in Ezakheni C-Section when they were stopped by police officers. At the time, the officers were busy conducting suspect raids when they spotted the two carrying speakers and cutlery.

The suspects could not give a satisfactory account for where the items had come from and were arrested on suspicion that the items they were carrying were stolen.

They appeared briefly in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court yesterday, where they faced charges of being in possession of suspected stolen property.

A third man was arrested on Friday evening in the Amangwe area. The 22-year-old man was stopped by police who were conducting stop and search operations. The man was found in possession of loose dagga.

The drugs weighed in at a few grams. The suspect briefly appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court yesterday on charges of possession of dagga.
