One of two suspects linked to the murder of Charlotte Viviers and Eric Oosthuizen will appear before the Memel Magistrate’s Court on December 14.
Residents from Newcastle, Zamani and Memel are encouraged to rally outside the courthouse as a show of faith.
The perpetrator made his first appearance in court on November 4, where he was scheduled to apply for bail.
The defence requested the State provide them with official statements, before deciding whether or not to commence with the bail hearing.
On November 19, the suspect’s legal representative indicated the application would be withdrawn.
The court is expected to reveal the scope and number of charges against the accused next Monday. Thereafter, he will be obligated to make an official plea.
The community remains positive the suspect will bear the consequences of his alleged actions, and be subjected to the full extent of the law.
In the meantime, he will remain under lock and key.
