
A 57-year-old woman was reportedly sleeping when she woke at to a man removing the blankets off her and stabbing her on Thursday, October 22.
She screamed for help after the suspect fled the crime scene. She later discovered that her television set, cell phone and amplifier were stolen.
On Thursday, November 26, the cellphone was recovered and a 33-year-old suspect was arrested. He appeared before the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, December 10. A second suspect was arrested when an amplifier was recovered on Monday, December 7.
The 32-year-old suspect appeared briefly in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, December 3.
“Amangwe Detectives worked tirelessly to ensure a breakthrough in this case and their efforts have yielded positive results,” said police spokesperson Captain Charmaine Struwig.
