Kidz Space Pre-Primary School in Paterson Street, was burgled last Wednesday evening.
“It happened just before 7pm and the burglars gained access by kicking our back door in,” a staff member claimed.
Despite an alarm system on the premises, the perpetrators managed to steal groceries and electrical appliances.
“We, however, only saw what had happened the next day when we got to work. We are now encouraging people to answer their phones when their security companies contact them,” the staff member said.
While no arrests have yet been made, the school’s staff urged residents to be more vigilant.
“We saw people hanging around outside in the street prior to the burglary, but thought nothing of it. However, it might have been the burglars,” the staff member concluded.
