CLASS OF 2015: Here’s how to get your matric results

The class of 2015 can now receive their results the moment they are made public

With only a few hours remaining before the Department of Basic Education starts releasing matric results, the class of 2015 can now receive their results the moment they are made public.

Here’s how:

SMS

For the SMS option the learner will send an SMS to 35685 which will include their ID number and student number.

The system will verify the ID number and the Exam number; both numbers must have 13 Digits in order to be accepted.

The ID Number will also be subjected to an algorithm that identifies if the ID Number is a valid South African ID Number.

Learners will be charged R1 per SMS, free SMSes will not apply.

USSD

For the USSD option the learners will dial *120*35685#, put in their ID number and Exam number to register; once the results are available, they will get their results per subject.

The USSD has what is called the resume session function, where the system recognises the number the next time the user dials the string.

This means that it will remembewhat the last question the learner answered was.

The cost for USSD is 20 cents per 20 seconds.

SABC Education will again run a call-centre to address issues relating to registration process, registration confirmation and queries on results received.

Learners may contact the call centre on 011 504 0008, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.

Approximately 300 000 pupils received their results via the SABC Education SMS and USSD services in 2014.

Both Matric Results SMS and USSD lines were opened for matric students from December 9, 2015 and will remain opened until January 31, 2016.

Students who successfully register with the Matric Results campaign will receive their results on January 6, 2016.

At this time when matrics are very anxiously waiting for their results and for those who want receive support if they did not make it, as well as parents who may have difficulty with how to deal with their children who may not have made it can call this helpline.

It can be reached on 0800 428 428 or dial *120*7867#.
