Vryheid High School – Successful orientation of Grade 8s
Merck, a leading science and technology company, donated laboratory equipment and chemicals to the Science and Biology departments of VHS. This very generous donation was organised by Ms Heidi le Roux, CEO of the Johannesburg branch of the company.
THE Grade 8 orientation program at Vryheid High School started the day before school began on Tuesday, January 12.
Learners were introduced to the leaders and given a guided tour of the school terrain. That evening a bring-and-braai was held where parents of the Grade 8’s and new learners could meet the educators.
On Friday, January 15, the grade 8’s sang the school song and told the rest of the school about the five values we will live by this year. We are very proud of these learners who could learn all this in just three days and perform it so enthusiastically.
