Newcastle police are currently investigating a case of attempted murder.
This follows an incident that occurred on January 15, where two suspects approached a businessman on Terminus Street.
The culprits reportedly demanded the man allow them into his shop. An altercation ensued, resulting in the shooting of one of the perpetrators.
According to police, he was transported to hospital for further medical care.
A case was later opened, and investigations into the incident are under way.
